You are the creator of your own story and have been mysteriously been given the gift of life, you have free will to choose your attitude, mood and activity level.
Coaching brings you into your own light; it makes life happen for you. It gives you permission to be yourself, see where you need to move forward by following your strengths and weaknesses. You might say what weakness, yes because it is when we address what limits us with understanding we move forward. Say for instance you are feeling really anxious; observe where your attention, your focus is. Now take a few deep breaths, feel into your body and breath, bringing your awareness to the present, focus on what you are doing, give yourself the space to perceive the situation as it is and now ask yourself what do I need... Give yourself the permission to do this in your own space and time.
It is so sad that we do not give ourselves enough pats on the back for treasuring our uniqueness. We can gain a lot from listening and appreciating ourselves in the moment. What do you need right now, what is right for you?
Another little tool I use is paying attention to tension and emotion in the body. The minute you give awareness to your pain or tension, you give yourself presence allowing tension to dissolve. When you give yourself the attention you deserve, you are acknowledging and supporting you. You are tuning into an inner world that governs your very existence.
You can tell yourself lots of stories that are true, not so true and completely false that you believe whole heartedly. I believe we all have a unique part to play, many people lack the courage to play their part because they talk themselves down e.g. I’m not good enough, I don’t know enough or I could never do that. Ask yourself why are you not? Who says you can’t. With the help of mindfulness, observing your thoughts, exploring feelings, what your life means to you. You begin to understand that you have full control over how everything that happens to you. What you think, how you react, how you feel and what you perceive. You create your own reality and when given the space for it to work, supports creativity, learnings and growth.
You can get so caught up in your day to day life situations and how the world is, that you think this is all there is. Sometimes there seems to be no way out, and it takes a lot of courage to stop the ship from sinking, but you have the strength to crawl out of any situation. It is not until we are in our darkest hour that we choose to change and can gain insight into how our life should be for us.
